A major need of any leader is counsel.
No one knows everything.
Bits of knowledge are scattered here and there in the minds of individuals.
To claim knowledge of everything is an over estimation of self.
It is a mark of foolishness.
Concerning Hezekiah, it was said, “…For the king had taken counsel.” 2 Chronicles 30:2.
Every wise king takes counsel, but a foolish king will not and that ends him in destruction.
A poor child is better than a king who detest counsel. Ecclesiastes 4:13.
It is by counsel that thrones are established. Proverbs 11:14; 15:22; 24:6.
While a king has the onus to make decision, he must constantly allow room for counsel from all especially his immediate subordinates.
The willingness to receive counsel is a major trait of successful leadership.
