One major hindrance to our spiritual advancement is feelings.
You hear people say “I don’t feel the Spirit.”
Truly, you may not, often. Feeling is momentary & temporal.
This is why you have to stir up the spirit by stirring up yourself largely by speaking to yourself.
It is subjected to changes. It can make one passive and become cold.
As against being passive, you can make your spirit active by stirring and engaging it. 2 Timothy 1:6.
Spiritual fervency scares the devil to the root. Romans 12:11.
Don’t wait to feel the spirit, just engage the Spirit and the Spirit will take over.
Like Smith Wigglesworth applied, “If the Spirit doesn’t move me, I move the spirit. I’ll start in the flesh, and the Spirit will take over.”
To stir up yourself, speak to yourself! Psalms 42:5,11; 43:5. Ephesians 5:18-20.
